The executive is the branch of government responsible for the day-to-day management of the United States.

There is a head of governement, which for the US is the President, but can be a Prime Minister, etc.

The governemnt is sperated into branches with different duties so that they can balance each other out and one will not have too much power (checks and balances). They are all seperate and absolute.

The Executive Branch does the duties that are determined by the Legislative Branch including:

- collecting taxes
- customs duties
- Pay the salaries of government employees and government expenditure
- Responsible for internal and external security of the state
- Maintains a police force and armed forces
