Restaurant's who require server's to supply a $20.00 bank.

I wanted to know if it was legal for a restaurant mangement team to require a server to supply thier own $20.00 bank? Not only supply the $20.00 bank but to also ask the server if they have the money and to show them (management team) the money. After all this is not an issued $20.00 bank contracted from the restaurant to the server. This is the server's individual and personal money. Does the restaurant management team have the right to ask thier employees how much of thier own personal money they have on them and to show them the money. I feel this is intrusion and not at all legal. Am I correct?
Thankyou,
matt

Federal and state laws provide for protection against invasion of privacy. Here is specifically what I think pertains to you.

"Privacy rights: intrusion - The employee has the right to be left alone, and there should be no unwanted or unreasonable intrusion into his/her personal space. This right can conflict with searches and monitoring activities."
