Diamonds or rubys or pearls? which is a girl's best friend?

This question is like asking what flowers girls like best and how they like them

while diamonds and roses are popular. I tend to opt for different things. For me diamonds, roses, pearls are trite. Diamonds are good for engagement rings only, but I would say most if not all women disagree. lol.

Roses are boring on days expected... ( v-day, anniversary, birthday) but are nice only as a surprise without a special day.

Birthstones are fine if you know the girl loves her birthstone. I'm Jan which is garnet but what I'd really like is an Emerald or an Opal.

So my answer would be to get to know her and find out what colors and things she likes. Diamonds and Roses are defaults to me, but if you really took time to know me, you'd know that I like other things better. :) hope that helps.
