Finally I will say HDTV has come a long way from over the air. Here are some benefits and downfalls of each...

benefits

a.) over the air is free
b.) over the air can have THE BEST PICTURE. Cable and satellite companies have to think about bandwidth, so they downconvert pictures.
c.) over the air somtimes provides multiple channels. Yes, sometimes you get 2-1, 2-2, 2-3. One is for news, one is for programming, one is for weather maps. All from the same network, say ABC. Granted the 2.2 and 2.3 sometimes have low quality, but it's interesting to get multiple streams from one provider.

downfalls

a.) cable/satellite is SO MUCH EASIER. Yes, setting up an an antenna is a pain, getting the cabling down to your TV. Depending on your location you can have quality issues with the signal totally dropping out. Not even pixelating, but going blank for 1 to 20 seconds.
