OK i think this is ok , and i dont think there's a law against this action. and Ive seen this in the bigger hosiptals were they even tell you to bring a snack with you . and if you are going to be there awhile they want you to eat. ! and even if in a hosiptal room you eat 3 meals a day there and this would be the same!

Can food be brought in by patients in an outpatient setting?
I work in an outpatient infusion center in a physicians office. Some of my patients like to bring their lunch and or drink in when they are going to be infused and it will be longer then an hour or so. Patients are not allowed to eat or drink before their IV site is started and secured The medications infused are usually fluids, antibitics, IVIG etc. Patients are in a recliner with an attached tray that is not shared. Each chair is disinfected before and after each patient use.
What is OSHA guidelines on this?
