Constant and Severe Lower Left Abdominal Pain.

For the last 6-7 months I have been having fairly constant pain in my left lower abdomen. It's usually more of an uncomfortable pain that is achy and feels like a baseball is being pressed into my abdomen. However I do get periods that can last from a couple hours to a couple days of completely excruciating sharp and achy pain. I'm almost always nauseous but rarely vomit, as well, I have diarrhea from 1-5 times a week (usually more often than not). About a month ago I had a bm that was almost entirely blood. The doctor dismissed that as a fissure (which I'm not buying...) and I've been for many many an ultrasound. I did have one cyst in my right ovary however that is now gone and the pain is not. I also suffer from migraines however if that is related or not I'm not sure. I'm at a complete loss.

Thanks,

Just one question though:

Isn't Diverticulitis an old person disease? Like over 60? I may be way off but that's just what I've heard. And just for some additional information I am a 20 yr old female, and otherwise fairly healthy and active in sports. A bit overweight but I go to the gym 3-5 times a week and have a personal trainer now so I'm working on that. :)

I have been trying to get a second opinion. Unfortunately, where I live (Calgary) it's impossibly difficult to find a doctor if you are healthy let alone sick already. I've met with a few doctors as walk-ins and all of them have told me the same thing - they do not treat such large problems as walk-ins and they will not take me as I am already sick. Pretty ridiculous right? So, at the moment I am still trying to find a doctor but without any luck. If any one knows of a doctor or specialist in the Calgary area (or even in Alberta) that would be fantastic.
