Constant and Severe Lower Left Abdominal Pain.

For the last 6-7 months I have been having fairly constant pain in my left lower abdomen. It's usually more of an uncomfortable pain that is achy and feels like a baseball is being pressed into my abdomen. However I do get periods that can last from a couple hours to a couple days of completely excruciating sharp and achy pain. I'm almost always nauseous but rarely vomit, as well, I have diarrhea from 1-5 times a week (usually more often than not). About a month ago I had a bm that was almost entirely blood. The doctor dismissed that as a fissure (which I'm not buying...) and I've been for many many an ultrasound. I did have one cyst in my right ovary however that is now gone and the pain is not. I also suffer from migraines however if that is related or not I'm not sure. I'm at a complete loss.

Sorry live in the US. Maybe you could buy temporary insurance and come for a doctor's evaluation. That's a switch...everybody here wants to go to Canada for medical help. Can you get checked by rheumatologist for Crohn's? Do you have any joint pain at all? With diverticulitis it is true that most affected are over 40. It's an inflammatory condition which results from diverticula, bulging balloon-like pockets in the colon which can hold contents & become infected. Crohn's is an autoimmune syndrome usually presenting in younger persons causing abdominal pain as well, diarrhea sometimes with blood (like diverticulitis). There are similarities but labs can show the difference.
