Unemployment

On the Federal taxes where to answer the amount of unemployment that was paid out I understand. Furthur down there is a question if we paid any of it back. On the 1099-G form in box 1 is Unemployment compensation but also in box 9 it has Amount repaid on overpayment. Is this the amount I may enter for paid back on taxes or not

They overpaid us and we paid them back durning the proces of being unemployed. Unfortuneately when you fill out the information on taxes for Unemployment Compensation they don't ask what is in your boxes like they do for your wages on your normal w-2s. This a very plain and not up front form. I noticed I didn't answer the box on last years taxes either and don't know if I am doing this wrong then the IRS owe us instead of us oweing them with their tremendous high Interest they would charge us.
