I like the DVR to record favorite tv programs. Get the HD BOX and DVR Recorder through your cable, or satelite provider. You pay monthly on it and I like that over tivo because then if the technology gets better you didn't waste your money on buying an expensive tivo, you can just upgrade to the newest equipment and pay the same monthly rate.

What would you recommend I purchase to record my favorite programs with an eye on the newer technology?
Just purchased an Olevia 226T as an entry level HDTV. With an eye on the future and new technology, what componet would you recommend I purchase to play DVDs/record favorite programs? Is DVD even the right or best term? Thank you.
