What is causing this pain?

I have had a dull achy crampy pain in lower abdomen that travels to my lower back with a pain in the area just below my ribs in the middle. I also feel nasueous. It feels as the pain in by abdomen is a pressure that pushes up to my area just below my ribs. At times the pain is not so dull.

This is not a new pain for me I get these symptoms just about every month. It interfers with my work and I take a sick day.
I had a hysterectomy 1.5 years ago, just the uterus.
I don't understand why all these symptoms keep returning.

Jane, it is possible that you are experiencing ovarian cysts. While you no longer have a uterus, your remaining ovaries still produce hormones and eggs and you should still be having yearly exams. It is also possible that you have Endometriosis. Endometriosis is a condition in which the tissue that normally lines the uterus (endometrium) grows in other areas of the body. The tissue growth (implant) typically occurs in the pelvic area, outside of the uterus, on the ovaries, bowel, rectum, bladder, and the delicate lining of the pelvis. However, the implants can occur in other areas of the body, too. These are both things you will want to discuss with your OB.
