I agree with jane. My one year old does that too, but I figured out he doesn't like to sit in his high chair to eat (along with wanting to feed himself). He is too busy playing to stop for a meal. I make his meal - let him know its there and offer him a bite every few minutes. He now comes to me when he wants a bite or drink and then he's off again. Or I will drop his high chair to it's lowest setting and put the food on the tray - He can come and go as he pleases that way. It takes about an hour (or more) to eat, but at least he eats.
Also consider teething. When my son is cutting a tooth he doesn't like to eat. It makes his mouth hurt and I try to stick with applesauce, yogurt, and soft foods.
I should mention though that you know your baby better than anyone. If he/she is acting like it hurts to eat or like her tummy hurts contact the doctor.
