If you don't have children or own real estate, you can do it yourself without involving an attorney as long as you're both in agreement over who gets what. The forms are available at most county court buildings for a nominal fee. There are a few filing time windows that you have to follow and a couple of court appearances (and your ex usually doesn't even need to be there as long as everything is in order up to that point).
