How long can herpes live outside the body? time lines are to one second to the perfect storm . and what i mean by that is the warm air and moisture has to be perfect for this virus to live even a few minutes outside the body and then it is not perfect .and i would not tell you this without thinking that this is correct to advise you in this kind of condition. there can be no time lines in this kind of condition to tell any one that a virus can live a certain amount of time because of the lab conditions that have to be present to maintain life to the virus. and this has to be in a controlled lab to even test this. so no one does not unless very unlucky get a virus off a toilet seat and not from a scratch from a doctor because this will be impossible to prove!
