Id say the car setting some oil leaked around the value stems , and it wont hurt it , since you warmed it up , it burned the oil out and will probley not do it again , as long as you run it daily, ive see n this before, and your fan or fans will come on just let it idle in the drive way , and it will come up to temp , and turn them on

Leak on my 1997 pontiac (an answer to any or both ?s would help)
Is it dangerous to drive with an oil leak on my 97 pontiac, my machanic said that smoke came out when he turned the car on, because i did not turn the car on for 3 months, but we tried to turn it on again and there was no smoke..is this something to worry about, and my fans will not turn on because it has not been on for a while, he said they might turn on if the engine gets hotter...PLEASE HELP
