Sales tax

If i purchase an item online because it is not available in store, do I still get charged on sales tax?

Depends on if it was in the same state that you live in.

if you live in Kansas and you buy something from Idaho, you shouldn't get charged sales tax, unless that company has a physical brick and mortal location in Kansas as well.
