I can understand that. Are you working at all? Is it a concern of money? Perhaps if it's really important you could get a part-time job and contribute a portion of the cost. Maybe then he will see how important it is to you. In any good marriage, we may not agree, but we have to be willing to make comprimises. See if you can start with something simple like painting a room to ease him in. Find out why he is so adverse to making changes to the house. Is it just cost? See if you can agree to cut back on something to make this happen. It's all about compromise!

My husband won't agree to remodel our home, do I just live with it?
He owns the home and has for 20 years. I have never been able to hang pictures on the walls. I have asked to do new landscape and remodel with new carpet. We have been married for 16 years. I still have the same stove, frig, flooring. When I suggest we look into updating the house, we end up in a huge fight. Overall the marriage is good, except for this roadblock. I am unhappy with my surroundings. We have an 8 year old daughter.
