Talking it out is always the best solution, however, my husband is not a rational person. It is impossible to speak or reason with him and I am stuck because I need repairs on the home that he had left go, and need to get a equity loan and cannot without his signiture or him signing over the house. His father is an attorney and has suggested to him he sign over the house to avoid the tax liabilities, but so far this has not happened. Is he liable for half the taxes since this dead beat dad refuses to work to support his kids? Can they go after his new house to recoup some of the taxes owed on our joint property?

Is a residence always divided?
My husband has chosen not to work for several years. He does not pay any child support for our 2 children. In exchange, he is to get the children off in the mornings and insists on being there when they get home from school. (my children are 14 & 8) This is ok until he wants to punish me & then refuses to come in the a.m. causing me grief at work. It was his choice to move out 4 yrs ago and due to an inheritance from his mother, has since purchased a new house. He comes to the house whenever he likes, eats the food, uses the electricity, etc stating it's his house. He has also left me with tax debt (the morgage is paid off). Is there such a thing as abandonment in Pa, or is he entitled to half of the house?
