I also have a buick park avenue and had the same problem had it in the shop and had every test done to it they couldnt seem to find out what the problem was had the battery tested and altenator..said they were both fine. but..the alterator was bad...there is a regulator in it that when it gets hot it drags... anyway i decided to go ahead and spend the 150 bucks for the alternator...and try it its been almost 2 weeks and my car has been starting just fine.......Hope this helps you...

What's causing my car battery to discharge?
My car haven't just started this but I've just decided I would like to fix the problem. When I don't drive it for a few days, something pulls the fire out of the battery. I would like to know what's most common for doing this. Seems I remember something a long time ago about a situation like this that the starter, battery or something might was causing it. I would just like to know what would be the first most common things to check first for a shortage or something. I noticed that when I disconnect a cable and touch it back to the battery post, I gets a spark as if something is turned on and is puling juice. When I drive it, the battery stays up and it starts ok but just when I let it sit for a couple of days or more, the battery loses its power.
