My son has a son 9 years old. he and the mother never married. my son is 32, the mother is 31. the mother of my grandson has decided she wants to move to another state, and remove the child form all of his family. my son has been very lax on child su

Pport for most of his sons life. he saw him but was not paying. he decided he wanted to be a good father, so he has been turning his life around, keeping all court orders, paying past and current child support for half a year now. the court date was last week. the mom never works, and hasnt worked for longer than a few months at a time. her primary income is welfare. she does not pay rent,or anything since she lives with her parents in the basement with my grandson, and a daughter from a past relationship. she met a person online, met with them in nov. of 07, and now wants to move three states away with someone none of us know. the judge will make a decision this week. my grandson has been sleeping in the same bed as her now for 2 yrs. she refuses to help support the kids. i know if she leaves, this will be a very bad outcome. whats the chances the judge will take my sons court orderd visitation away, and allow this to happen?

You should file for custody of the child. if she is on welfare you might have a chance of getting custody.

you can file an emergency custody situation to keep her from moving while they sort this out.
