What's causing my car battery to discharge?

My car haven't just started this but I've just decided I would like to fix the problem. When I don't drive it for a few days, something pulls the fire out of the battery. I would like to know what's most common for doing this. Seems I remember something a long time ago about a situation like this that the starter, battery or something might was causing it. I would just like to know what would be the first most common things to check first for a shortage or something. I noticed that when I disconnect a cable and touch it back to the battery post, I gets a spark as if something is turned on and is puling juice. When I drive it, the battery stays up and it starts ok but just when I let it sit for a couple of days or more, the battery loses its power.

Any good auto parts will check your battery for you especially if batt is over 2 years old the internal plates can crack or wear out and will hold a partial charge for a few daws or less ==check all the obvious such as add on equipt over head or floor lighting [ if windows are tinted you wont notice them eaisly] check hood and trunk lights they operate on mecury s/w and only turn off when you close them====if you cant get to an auto parts a simple test if youhave time disconnect batt for a few days if it is weak or dead then you need a new one
