How do u program the tv to channel 3

The tv always was used with the satilight. i just brought it from someone and tried to get cable hooked up 2 it. the cable man could not program channel 3. all the other channels he could.so the cable will not work on the tv, what r we doing wrong.

If you are using a cable box it should be able to operate on ch 3 or 4 ===now i am not sure about tour set but some tv you can turn a channel off one of mine works like this when you dial the ch. 3 the number apearing on the set would be in a different color than the rest then press add on the remote or on the control on the set some canonly be done with the remote==another way to bypass this problen if the cable box wont s/w to 4 is run the cable through a vcr and set the s/w on the back of the vcr to ch 4 ==also on the back of the tv see if it has audio and vidio inputs if it does you should be able to use audio out and vidio out from the cable box ===you may have gotten a contractor in stead of a cable tech you might call the cable and request a cable tech to strighten out your problems
