A lemon law is for a car dealer, only , when you buy from a private party, its bought as is, if they didnt give a warrenty, so that means that you dont have any recourse, but to fix it your self , and after 60 days , thats to long a time for the other person to have known that it was bad, no one can know when a head gasket or any other gasket will blow, thats not possible, in the car world , hope this helps

Does my nanny have any rights with buying a "lemon car" from a private party in Kansas
I feel like my nanny who is only 18 was taken advatage of. My nanny bought a car from a private owner in Kansas for $3000. 60 days letter it quit working. She took it to a mechanic and they said it has a blown head gasket, etc. and would cost over $2500 to fix. I truly beleive in my heart the previous owner was aware of the situation. Does she have any rights? She had to broww the money to buy thecar in the first place and now she con't afford to fix it-let me know if she has any rights. Thanks.
