Is it illegal to read some one elses email?
When I was with my ex girlfriend I cheated on her and told her about it and we broke up. She kept most of our possesions which I am trying to get back but she has refused to because she says since I cheated on her I don't deserve anything. However I have recently came across some emails in her email box that prove she cheated on me over a year before I did. I do want to throw it in her face but I'm worried that if it's illegal she would take action against me. Through out our relationship she was very open about her password and said I could use the account to IM our friends or whenever. I never really used this account but she is fully aware that I have always had the password and she hasn't to this date changed it. Am I in the wrong legally for getting into her email account?
