The church itself as an entity can enter into a loan agreement, but to ask and/or require its members to sign the note is highly unethical and suspicious to say the least. If you or any other member have been asked to do this, I would check the church's constitution to see if a vote of confidence is in order. If you are the pastor and you are contemplating such a request, I would think twice about it. Looks to me like a case of "Fleecing the Flock" but I am not there so I can't say that for sure. All I know is that if there are financial troubles, if you seek God's Will, He will be faithful. Susu
