To combat acne and pimples you need to make sure that you cleanse your face on a daily basis to remove oils, dirt and bacteria. Cleanse your face with phisoderm and warm water. Do not use hot water as this is very damaging to the pores and can actually increase oil production, thus exacerbating the problem. Then you can use a gentle astringent such as Sea Breeze (not witch hazel or rubbing alcohol) to remove traces of dirt and help close the pores back up to keep dirt out. Do this before going to bed and when you wake up, as your pores open at night while you sleep. Also, make sure your pillowcase is cleaned often, dirt and dead skin cells are left on it nightly. Then to spot treat any pimples you have you can use benzoyl peroxide, but just like with Retinol you must be careful whe exposed to UV rays as you increase your risk of sunburns or skin irritation. You should try the cleasing technique for a few weeks before adding in the benzoyl peroxide because you will be reducing the bacteria by proper cleansing and may not even need to spot treat. All proactive is, is a cleansing method, that incorporates the same principles listed here. Also, DO NOT pop your pimples as not only can it cause scarring, but will actually spread the bacteria. Phisoderm is usually found in the same area as the astringents and other acne treatments. If you have large pores find a good mud mask made from English clay, it works wonders on firming skin and reducing pores. Good luck. Susu
