Having ashes scattered

My husband was a vertern who was stationed in germany in 1955. He passed away and his last wish was to either have his ashes scattered or buried in germany. I would like to know if there is a chaplin stationed in germany who could answer this question for me.

Unfortunately, your husband's last wishes are not legally binding on anybody or any agency. Germany has environmental and health laws that restrict what can be done with remains, including ashes. If you desire to have your husband's ashes buried in a German cemetary, you should contact the German consulate nearest you for information on the possibility of doing that. You will find it can be quite expensive.
