You'll just need to put his name on the birth certifate and then file for child support right away.
and if he walked out, chances are he won't get custody. but it would be good to also file for sole custody since he walked out.
because of the child support, you'll have to stay in contact with the dad for the next 18+ years of your life. so try and stay on good terms with him
