Endometriosis is a condition where tissue that behaves like the cells lining the uterus grows in other places. This can cause pain, bleeding, and the possibility of infertility.
Symptoms that may show up are painful periods, pain in the lower abdomen or pelvic cramps. Pain in the lower abdomen during menstruation, pain with bowel movements or during sex.
Some treatments are medications to control pain, as well as medication to stop endometriosis from getting worse. They can also do surgery to remove the endometriosis, or a Hysterectomy with removal of both ovaries.
