Aspirin is not good for any dogs if taken too long. I am not a vet and therefore cannot give you a dosage recommendation. I understand that you want to ease his discomfort. Is it possible that you ask your veterinarian about Rimadyl, Tramadol or Metacam? These are all pain medications in one sense or another. You would probably be asked to have some simple blood tests performed first before starting any of those as some can cause some liver problems. Good luck, and please consult with your Vet.
