Changing guardianship ,biological father has not been around since child was 2years old

Biological father has never been a part of his daughters life , Do I really need his authorization to give my sister full custody of my daughter? What is the difference between temporary guardianship and legal guardianship? I can only find applications online for temporary Guardianship.

I would guess that meaning the father has not had contact with his daughter that he probary wouldn't try going to court to get custody. There are alot of factors involved here if he has not paid child support he will be afraid to appeal in front of the judge, also your daughter is 16 years old and old enought to have a say in this. I think it will be fine letting your mom having the guardianship. This can actually take a few months depending on if the father is served. If you do not know where the father is just tell the couts and they will just run an ad in the parper twice a week for three weeks and then you'll get a court date. I also believe there is a law if he has not been in the childs life at all within a year you can have the right to do what you want. This will be fine don't worry he is not going to get your daughter I just wanted you to know how the process works.
