Concerning inherited land

If my spouse who has one living child (not mine) dies, who inherits property he inherited, me as surviving spouse or his child as family in the state of Texas

You would not get ownership of land unless there was a will. stating that your wife wanted you to have it, if not it would go to her child, but without a will it is not an easy process, so draw up a will or living trust.
