What age does a male child require his own room

I have a 9 yr. old grandson who sleeps with his mother and dad at home. My step-daughter is visiting tonight with their 16 yr.old daughter and grandson and I want to inform her that I want him to sleep in the grandson's room. I need some type of information/law to reinforce my statement

I don't believe there is any "law" stating that a child has to have his/her own room, but it sure looks a little, no a lot strange that a 9 year old is still sleeping with mom and dad.

Have you asked why he still sleeps with them? Some sort of trauma? Maybe the parents are using the child in their bed/room so that they don't have to be intimate. An excuse for them. I would ask them to look to the future. What kind of "man" are they raising, will he be so insecure that he will never leave home, or will he be damaged by still being a "baby" and sleeping with them that he may act out?

I am sorry this isn't a great answer to your question, but I would think that a child should be out of the parents room before their first birthday! Your grandson should have had his own room many years ago!
