Small claims court, defendant is appealling the Magistrate's judgement

What are the chances of a Judge over turning a Magistrates decision?
Can I counter sue for a greater amount because of the time involved in going back to court and taking time away from work? I am self employed.

What are the chances? that would depend on the case and what exactly he is over turning.

As far as counter suing for more, I don't know on that one. That would be a good question for a lawyer.
