My hubby has a torn meniscus and my mom-in-law got him some arnica oil. He didn't use it (he's weird about stuff), but I started using it on my ankle. (I've broken the same one 6 times - so it gives me trouble quite a bit). The arnica oil has been a lifesaver! I love that stuff. Whenever my ankle starts getting sore I put some on in the morning and before bed and it doesn't hurt. Initially it takes 1-2 days to start working, but once you start using it you will feel results fast. You only need a couple of drops at a time so a bottle lasts a long time (Had mine a year, shared w/ family and friends and still got over half a bottle). You can get it at a health food store. The only thing is you have to not mind the smell of wintergreen because it does have a strong smell (goes away once you rub it in).
