I have my degree in psychology, so most people would think that I believe in dream interpretation, but I actually believe that (and research indicates) that dreams are simply your brain firing in random areas of your brain and your frontal lobe trying to make sense of it b interpreting random signals and memories into a story.
BUT I do believe that if you have a dream and have a strong emotional response to the dream, you can learn a lot from it just like you can from ink blots, etc. If you dream about not being able to walk, you should write it down and see how that makes you feel. Maybe you felt powerless and that's why you remember the dream so vividly and not others because you feel powerless in another situation in life. I think they can be great tools for insight, but the actual physiology of dreams is much less magical in my opinion.
