Every state has different laws on grandparents rights. I do not know what state you live in, but there are just a few that does not allow any rights to grandparents. Most states will allow a grandparent to file for visitations. This has been a battle between the parents and grandparents for a long time now and even when the courts allow the visitations the parents still refuse the grandparent their rights and it ends up in courts for years and cost lots of money. The best thing to do is try to talk to the parents and work something out,if that does not work all you can do is consult with an attorney and find out if your state allows for any grandparent rights.
