About use of comic book images and outsider art

If I teach college-level courses on comic books/graphic novels and outsider art, can I use such images on my Web site?

I think you'd still have to get permission to use the images from comic book art or outsider art, just as you would any other art or photography someone might want to use. The comic book art is sure to have a copywrite, not sure about the outsider art, but am sure someone would own the rights to the image.
