I have recipts for half of the child support and a signed statment form the other from where he has paid. Now we are back together and we did not get up there in time to drop it before he got arrested. How do we go about droping it so he can get out of jail?

WoW,

first off a lawyer could work it out fast, his public defender could use your help. also if you contact the DA you could try to get a hearing, but i don't know what it would be called for support.
at this point the only thing i could recommend is go to his bail review and and court date and talk to the pd before the court is in session just as for legal aid or a public defender they will gladly point you in the right direction. bring everything you have to court, recipts etc. he'll get released and may have to put up a small bond. but then you'll have to go through hell, because the state makes a great deal of money from child support cases.good luck getting that to happen, it may but it's beyond my area of expertese.

First, I would contact your local Child Support Department. Try to speak with your case manager and let her/him know that you and your child's father reconciliated and were living together just before he was arrested. Explain your circumstances letting that office know that he was arrested before you had the opportunity to go into their office. This might help to suspend the charges and get him released. Try this before you dish out hundreds of dollars in an attorney. Good luck.

I would suggest that you go to your local family court house or call them and they will tell you exactly what needs to be done :)
