1988 Jeep Cherokee door lock broken

The interior front passenger side panel lock is broken. It is a manual slide lock. I opened it up and where the interior slide lock fits over the metal extension to the exterior lock is just "floating". I opened up the rear passenger lock that works and it doesn't "float." I can't seem to pinpoint the piece that is missing/broken besides the cap end that fits into the interior locking mechanism, but that doesn't seem to be the true problem. I duct taped it together and it holds for now, but would like to find a diagram of the interior of the door panel of 1988 Jeep cherokee. I'm pretty sure it's a part I could find at the auto scrapyard. This is a minor and very specific problem, so I've had difficulty finding resources. Any help is greatly appreciated.
