1993 Ford Escort s/w Auto 1900 Eng.

I want to put another Computer in the Car.The Computer is forward of the Console on the floor. How would I remove the Console?. I just can't see how to get the Auto shift Plate up, so I can get the console out. I don't want to break anything.The Book that I have only shows how to take it out with a stick shift in the Car.

You need to take the shift handle off so it will slide through the console it probably has a set screw in it , that loosens with a hex or allen wrench or it has some sort of lock type spring ring around the outside plate its self hidden in a small grove , if the console has and ash tray in it check for a screw under it
consoles can give you a fit some times
