1993 Ford Explorer Automatic Transmission Problems...

When it is started cold, the transmission functions normally until it is warmed up. Then after it is warmed up, all forward and reverse gears are lost. Then if you shut off the motor and immediately start it back up again, the transmission funtion returns for a short drive and then continues to act this way until it becomes cold again. What would be causing this problem and how do I fix it? Need answer ASAP Please!

All your bands in the trans, is gone, they tighten for a bit when they get cold , then when they get warm , they, slip, time for a trans over haul, not cheap
