1994 Pontiac Transport. After driving fine for 7 or 8 miles, if begin to slow down the steering wheel shimmies and the car stops.

After resting a short time, the car starts up fine and you can continue driving for another 7 or 8 miles when the same thing occurs. None of the mechanics I have been to seem to know what the problem is.
