1996 Ford Ranger

Do you put transmission fluid into a manual transmission on a 1996 Ford ranger that was just replaced and what kind of fluid do you put into it?

If you had it replaced in a shop they should have put fluid in it for you,if not check your owners manual to se what tranny fluid is required.if you dont have that almost all manual trannys use 90weight gear oil,fill up the tranny until it just starts to leak out the filler hole,then put the plug in and your ready to go.

Some do use regular tranny fluid like automatis does also. call dealer they can tell you. and 90wt to thick for that little tranny esp. if in cold climate.
