1997 Golf Cabrio stalls without warning

I had an issue with my 1997 Golf Cabrio not starting (usually when moist outside). I replaced the distributor cap, rotor, and wires and the problem seemed to be resolved. However, the car in general driving down the street or at a light randomly stalls without warning. No sputter, pops, or usual noises. After sitting for 15-20 minutes the car starts, idles fine, and runs like a top until the next random occurrence. Any thoughts or suggestions as to what might cause, and how to sole this problem? Your help is GREATLY appreciated! Thank you!

Have you replaced your fuel filter, you might check this 1st, theres some thing up with fuel flow
