1997 pontiac sunfire won't start

Engine turns over fine with no evidence of flooding or even that the fuel pump runs. Tried grounding a spark plug wire and no spark noted.
Considered that the computer might control both, but I can't find it!

Ok there 2 computers on the fire wall , and i think yours for the spark is on the left side of the firewall , try that its a little black box lokking thing, and it may be white iam just not sure until i look at you r car

Thanks for taking the time to answer. Looks like I have to take it in. I bought a manual and learned that the year before, they changed the design to require using the fancy, expensive scanning tool to access trouble codes. I could put in a lot of hours and change a lot of parts and still be not running by guessing.

Yes they did , and you might get it right and not, you can get a free scan here, with a machine at advance auto parts , that gives you the codes then you can get the codes meaning on the internet if you have to pay for a scan , this might help you, get it for free,

Should have donee it when it first stumbled. Can't really have it towed in to Advance and then back home!!!
