1998 park ave blows cold air when temp is set at highest level

When i set the temp to the highest setting i only get cold air

I do not smell any coolant so i don't suspect the heater cord. it seems that in the past i had heat but it would cool on its own. it would never stay warm

Sounds like a control switch is not doing its job and not closing the air door to you heater core so that warm air flows though. maybe just a cable loose, the vent door has to close in orer to get warm air . and maybe on high it opens again . hope this helps!
