2000 sunfire timing chain removal

Replacing cylinder head gasket, need to remove timing chain, need to know how and how to replace when done.

Up for any internal repairs, does it make sense to change the timing chain & gears on an engine with this many miles? Also wondering if there are any other surprises I might find if I do this repair? Thanks,...
