302 v8 carb engine in a 85 ford ranger xlt

Want to put a 302 carb engine in a 1985 ford ranger xlt how much would it cost me & if i have to changed my tansmission too. I have a v6 engine in it now but no horsepower anymore. Can i put a v8 302 engine in my 85 ranger.

That depends on what the shop would charge for labor, or if you are doing it yourself.

You will need quite a few things like different motor mounts, a new transmission, exhaust manifolds or headers, a custom driveshaft, and more than likely some work to the rear end. And of course, the 302.

It is quite a large project, but it can be done.
