Sounds like your lock up torque convertor is not unlocking. This kind of torque convertor has a clutch in them that is actuated (or locked up) by an electric solonoid. The convertor should only lock up when you are in high gear at a steady cruising speed to lower the engine rpms and illiminate the inherent "slip" associated with an automatic transmissions torque convertor. This saves gas. If the clutch doesn't disengage like it's supposed to then you basically have a manual transmission with no way to transition from fully stopped to rolling along. Unless of course you want to rev the motor way up and then drop it in gear. That would probably work but only a few times beforew you twisted a drive shaft or busted a u-joint. I'm not sure where the connection for the torque convertor solonoid is in this model but it should be on the tranny near the bell housing. Find it and unplug it and see if that doesn't "fix" the problem. If it does then you probably need a new solonoid or a new torque convertor.
