In ca. is it criminal to hide your vehicle from creditor?

Was told it is grand theft auto and you will be pulled over and arrested.

If you are driving the car it is not hidden!

Yes. It is if you know your in default of a loan and someone is looking for the vehicle you can be charged with grand theft auto. The courts will look at it like you knew you had payments that were not getting paid and you kept driving the vehicle, hiding it or what ever your doing with it. The creditor only has to prove he tried to locate it and you proved to be difficult.
